West Hub Development

The West Hub Development Project includes the development of the Sangos, Cinguvu, Mpungi, Mpungi North, Ochigufu and Vandumbu fields, at water depths ranging from 1,000 to 1,500 metres. The wells are arranged in groups and connected to the N’Goma FPSO (Floating Production Storage and Offloading Unit), which has a processing capacity of 100,000 barrels of oil per day. In December 2014, production started at the West Hub Development project in Block 15/06 (Eni 35%, operator), the first project in production operated by Eni in Angola, with an initial level of 45,000 barrels of oil/day, achieved through the N’Goma FPSO. The development of the project took place in just 44 months from the declaration of a commercial discovery and is a top industry result for deepwater developments. For this reason the West Hub Development is one of seven record-breaking projects from Eni, all of which are remarkable for their rapid approval rates and times to start-up.
