A sustainable future is possible if energy companies play their part.
Vienna-based event is among the most important global meetings
The International Seminar reflects OPEC’s commitment to a secure and stable energy market to support a sound global economy, emphasising the need for dialogue between oil industry stakeholders, including producers and consumers. The event is the main media showcase of the organisation of oil producing countries. It is seen as one of the key dates in the global energy calendar, with more than 750 speakers from around the world expected to attend the 2018 edition.
Energy debate plays out through the issues of cooperation and sustainability
Even since the first OPEC seminar in 1969, the event has given rise to a broad range of research projects in and around the energy sector, injecting fresh impetus into key questions surrounding the industry and helping to develop new paradigms. High-level presentations and round tables on the future of hydrocarbons have gradually been joined by authoritative speeches on the key issues of global finance, sustainable development and environmental protection. As a result, the importance of the event has driven an exponential rise in the esteem in which it is held by worldwide experts.
