WBCSD is an international organisation, founded in 1991 with the aim of bringing together the views of the private sector at the 1992 Earth Summit in Rio De Janeiro. The institute today represents more than 200 multinationals and has built up local networks in over 70 countries, making it the most authoritative voice for business with regard to sustainability issues. Eni’s presence is a demonstration of the company’s commitment to issues related to the energy transition towards a low carbon future at an international level. WBCSD particularly appreciated the presence of an exponent from the financial area of the company, which confirms the integration of sustainability with the other elements of the company’s strategy.
