All clear at Sannazzaro refinery. All personnel are proceeding with daily activities.

San Donato Milanese (Milan), 2 December 2016 – In connection with the fire that broke off yesterday afternoon at the EST plant in the Sannazzaro de’ Burgondi Refinery, Eni confirms that at 7:50am today the Refinery announced the “all clear”.
The refinery's direct and indirect personnel are now entering the premises to proceed with the daily activities.
The access to the EST plant is limited to the operational and security staff, that together with the national fire brigade, ARE working to complete the cooling activities .
A marginal controlled combustion is ongoing within a confined area, with the purpose of safely managing the gas products which are still present in the plant lines where the event occurred.
The damaged plant is the one used with the EST technology: it was isolated from all the other plants and a damage assessment will be carried out as soon as possible. The causes of the fire will be ascertained jointly with the competent authorities.
Security systems have been activated in a sharp way and functioned correctly, therefore guaranteeing the safeguard of the personnel. As recorded by local competent authorities, the concentration of pollutants in the air is not significant.
