Eni’s Renewable Energy and Environmental R&D Center in Novara, near Milan, specialises in applied research in the fields of renewables and the environment.
At our laboratory in Novara we develop revolutionary new applications for the new generation of renewables and to help protect the environment.
From 2007, Eni research focused on Renewable Energies (Solar and Biomass) and Environmental Protection and recovery, had obtained over 200 proprietary inventions covered by more than 500 patents in Italy and worldwide plus over 850 scientific papers.
The Novara laboratory has inherited the glorious scientific tradition of the Donegani Institute, for more than 70 years an example of excellence in applied industrial chemistry. In 2007, we focused the lab’s mission on renewable energy, the environment and safety at work, confirming its position as one of the most active laboratories in the world in its field. The laboratory also collaborates with leading international research institutions, including MIT – Massachusetts Institute of Technology – the French CNRS and the Polytechnics of Milan and Turin.
The most important research projects include solar and next-generation biomass, reducing environmental impact and the protection of workers.
