e-kms is Eni's IT platform for the management of technical integrated knowledge and problem-solving and allows the various Eni businesses across the countries where we operate to be connected. e-kms is the technical arena of Eni professionals who, throughout the world, exchange experience and best practice, working together to spread, improve and apply the knowledge and technologies resulting from everyone's experience.
Our Knowledge Management System facilitates technical problem-solving by sharing and applying the wealth of excellent technical knowledge and enhancing the quality of contents provided by each of us.
The wealth of knowledge and technical skills amassed by our people is one of our most fundamental assets. Eni's Knowledge Management System (e-kms) is a state-of-the-art system, based on an Enterprise Social Network, which, through technical discussions across businesses and countries, allows our people to be engaged and valued, and to share their excellent knowledge and skills. The system is constantly evolving and being updated, taking into account users' expressed needs and the opportunities offered by new technology. Every Eni person, wherever they are and at any time, can access e-kms and interact directly with colleagues from around the world, getting immediate support to solve a technical problem or sharing an experience or a lesson learned with everyone.
Today, the e-kms Knowledge Management System is an interactive social platform aimed at enriching and enhancing the connections and knowledge networks among Eni professionals worldwide. Currently, the system includes 29 Communities of Practice and 37 Geographical Units connecting more than 15,000 Eni people dealing with the full range of Eni activities across the various businesses where we operate with an integrated perspective. Over the years, the platform has become the reference point for solving technical problems and is now an everyday working tool: on average there are more than 20,000 posts published and more than 400 webinars annually, facilitating the dissemination and application of technical learning. Conceived to guarantee and stimulate the widest and most transversal participation, e-kms is made more dynamic thanks to its social and artificial intelligence features that allow every Eni person to boost their own knowledge and that of others, based on the principle that “everyone learns from each other”. By keeping track of these interactions, e-kms is able to generate, map and capture Eni's technical excellence, and then share, enhance and, above all, apply it. This "knowledge cycle" allows the positive and integrated management of experiences and skills. Finally, our Eni Knowledge Management System allows us to ensure our operating subsidiaries abroad are fully aligned with our internal standards of excellence, while at the same time ensuring our central office is updated with the latest technical experience gained in the field.
The benefits of e-kms are multiple, immediate and strategic: Effective management of technical problem-solving through the sharing of knowledge and skills allows us to optimise costs, processes and resources, as well as to create a common Eni culture focused on technical excellence. Furthermore, this integrated approach allows us to strengthen our corporate identity by involving everyone in building our success. Valuing skills and recognising the merit of our people improves our working methods, since it allows us to spread our innovative solutions faster.
