A system for recovering residual oil cheaply and ecologically.
Category: young talents from Africa
Industrial waste water from petrol refineries and petrochemical treatment are the source of series environmental problems. The aim of Tetteh's research is to change and optimise the constant process that uses a pilot dissolved air flotation (DAF) technique for waste water treatment plants (WWTPs) in petrol refineries. It brings the added benefit of recovering oil from the water. With this system you can therefore get better recovery of residual oil in an ecological way, as well as reduce the demand for fresh water in the industrial sector, freeing up more of it for the community.
This is Eni's international competition for applied energy research, launched in 2007 to find the best studies into efficiency, sustainability and environmental protection. Every year it involves the most important scientific institutions in the world and Eni's own laboratories.
