The digital accessibility of eni.com

Headquarters Eni Rome

For many people, the digital world plays an essential role in daily life, whether at work, at home or on the move. Web accessibility aims to ensure that people with disabilities can use the Internet on an equal footing

What defines a website’s accessibility?

The Internet is fundamentally designed to function for everyone, regardless of hardware, software, language, location or ability.

Web accessibility is about making websites, applications, technologies, tools, products and services inclusive. It means removing the barriers to communication and interaction that many people face in the physical world.

When the Internet achieves this goal, it becomes accessible to people with a wide range of hearing, motor, visual and cognitive abilities.

The accessibility statement and Eni's approach

At Eni, we work to enable everyone, without discrimination, to access the information on our website eni.com and to use its digital services and channels. We are committed to complying with initiatives to promote accessibility and inclusion, in accordance with Law No. 4 of 9 January 2004  and with subsequent updates of the WCAG guidelines, which are also recalled in the European Accessibility Act (EAA), an EU directive aimed at ensuring full web accessibility. The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) are recommendations from the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), the international organisation for the standardisation of web technologies.

The goal of these guidelines is to promote the inclusion of all users and to ensure that online products and services are accessible to everyone.

To achieve this, the W3C has established three main levels of conformance:

  • A: minimum level of conformance
  • AA: intermediate level of conformance
  • AAA: maximum level of conformance

We are progressively adapting our eni.com website to level AA, ahead of the requirement which will come into force in 2025.

How to navigate the website with access keys

You can browse the Eni.com website using access keys.
This allows you to access chapters and specific sections of pages using only your keyboard.

You can also activate tools such as language change, site search and printing.

How to activate access keys?

  • If you're using Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome or Opera, press Alt + access key.
  • For Mozilla Firefox, press Alt + Shift + access key.

Once enabled, these accessibility tools will be available on every website you visit and will not affect the readability of images.

Important note
If the access key on your computer is a number, activate access keys by pressing the numbers below the function keys at the top, not those on the number pad at the side.

These are the active access keys on the eni.com website:

Access key H –> go to Home Page
Access key T –> go to top of page
Access key E –> change language
Access key M –> mail
Access key P –> print page
