Goliat has been developed using the world’s largest and most sophisticated cylindrical floating production and storage unit (FPSO), built with the most advanced technologies to address the technical challenges of operating in an Arctic environment. With a capacity of a million barrels of oil, Goliat will also make minimal impact on the environment thanks to a land-based power supply and a “zero discharge” operational concept.The Sevan 1000 floating unit, built at the Ulsan Hyundai shipyard in South Korea, is the largest and most sophisticated cylindrical FPSO ever built. It was designed by a Norwegian company to cope with the Arctic conditions of the Barents Sea and features a number of revolutionary elements to ensure safe and stable operations.
