This PSC strengthens Eni’s presence in Angola and reinforces its commitment to deepwater developments. The technological complexity of these frontier projects requires specific skills and expertise which are key factors in the company’s success.
The group has been chosen from among 10 contestants which were selected during the first stage of the competition. The task of the competition, which was entered by over 50 international teams, was to develop the concept design for the construction of Eni's Exploration & Production Business Center.
The agreement signed today represents a further step forward towards the strengthening of the cooperation between the parties to support the future development phases of the field that will result in a material increase of the current production.
The sale will raise a total of approximately 1,068 million Swiss Francs for Eni’s participation in the Transitgas system and around 60 million Euros for its participation in TENP system.
Eni is strongly committed to an early development of the significant and known resources in this mature exploration area, where an exploration/appraisal well is expected to be drilled and tested as early as the second half of 2012.
For the first time in Italy, The adoration of the Shepherds by Georges de La Tour will be shown together with one of the most famous masterpieces by the painter from Lorraine, St Joseph the Carpenter, in the now annual exhibition at Palazzo Marino organised by Eni in collaboration with the City Council of Milan and the Louvre Museum.
In the meeting, the parties talked about the important results achieved through recent exploration in Angola, including the discoveries made in offshore block 15/06, the high mineral potential areas, and progress achieved by the company in implementing the current projects under development.
Eni has been operating in Indonesia since 2001. The company holds working interests in fourteen permits and operates eight of them. The offshore activities are located in the Tarakan and Kutei Basins, offshore Kalimantan, north of Sumatra and West Timor.
