An installation with a mediaeval feel

Eni's installation for Fuorisalone 2019 was designed by the international studio Carlo Ratti Associati, with the help of some of Europe's leading experts in mycology. The aim was to guide visitors along a path through Eni's commitment to and innovations in the circular economy, with concrete examples of how to move beyond the current linear economic system. To do so, the installation experimented with an unusual building material, the fibrous roots of fungi, to create a series of architectonic structures in the form of arches, which were erected in the botanical garden. Each was dedicated to a different one of Eni's circular economy projects, from transport to energy efficiency in buildings.
