San Donato Milanese (Milan), 10 May 2018 – Eni informs that maintenance and project works related to the suspension of the Sabratha offshore platform and onshore facilities of Mellitah have been completed and the wells of the Bahr Essalam offshore field (BES) in Libya have resumed production today.

Within two days, production entering the treatment facilities in Libya should reach about 1 billion standard cubic feet of gas per day (BSCFD), corresponding to about 28 MSCMD, with the subsequent recovery of normal treated gas flows both for the domestic market and for exports to Italy through the Greenstream pipeline.

During the suspension of operations, the submarine connections of the new 10 BES development wells with the Sabratha platform were successfully completed; the first 3 wells will begin production by June and the others by September this year.

BES, located about 120 km northwest of Tripoli, is currently the largest producing gas field offshore Libya. The field is operated by Mellitah Oil & Gas, an operating company jointly owned by NOC and Eni.
