We have been operating in the country since 1991 and today we are active in the Exploration & Production sector with an exploration licence in block MLO 124, which was assigned to us as part of a consortium in 2019.
We operate in the country through the subsidiary Eni Argentina Exploración y Explotación S.A. , which in 2019 was assigned the licence for MLO 124 Block, located in the Malvinas Basin southern offshore, about 100 km from the coast. The area covers 4,418 square km, with a water depth ranging from about 100 to 650 metres. The licence is held by a consortium operated by Eni with an 80% interest, and Tecpetrol S.A. and Mitsui & Co. Ltd. with 10% each. The planned activity for the four years of the first exploration period phase will mainly consist of three-dimensional geophysical prospecting of the area. Finally, we hold 30% interest in the offshore concession "Tauro-Sirius", located in the shallow waters of Tierra del Fuego.
