Eni Sustainable Mobility

Eni’s mobility company, a customer-focused multi-energy and multi-service business.

Striving for increasingly decarbonised mobility

Eni Sustainable Mobility S.p.A. is engaged in biorefining, marketing, biomethane production, smart mobility solutions, among them the Enjoy car sharing service, and the marketing and distribution of all energy carriers for mobility, also through more than 5,000 Enilive Stations in Europe. Its wide range of products, among them biogenic fuels such as HVO (Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil), bio-LPG and biomethane, hydrogen and electricity, as well as other products such as bitumen, lubricants and fuels, are produced in several plants. These include the Venice and Gela bio-refineries, the St. Bernard Renewables LLC bio-refinery in Louisiana (USA) owned by a joint venture in which the company holds a 50% interest, 22 biomethane production plants in Italy, as well as new projects that are currently under evaluation for two new bio-refineries in Livorno (Italy) and Pengerang (Malaysia). Eni Sustainable Mobility is directly controlled by Eni, which holds 100% of its share capital.

Enilive: a new brand to mark the transformation

Enilive is the new brand of Eni Sustainable Mobility which offers new services for mobility through the Enilive Stations network. These include food and beverage services of a high quality, thanks to the collaboration with the Niko Romito Academy and the opening of the first ALT Stazione del Gusto restaurant in Rome; convenience shops and many services to support people on the move, such as Telepass points, Enjoy cars, payments by postal slips and Amazon Lockers. Enilive's mission is to provide progressively decarbonized services and products for the energy transition, accelerating the process of reducing emissions along their entire life cycle. With its new visual identity, it represents the transformation of mobility proposed by Eni Sustainable Mobility.

The goal is energy transition

The new company is consistent with Eni's strategy of setting up special purpose vehicles equipped with all the organisational and financial levers necessary to seize the opportunities and growth prospects offered by the energy transition. Alongside Plenitude, Eni Sustainable Mobility represents the second strategic lever supporting our energy transition, aiming to eliminate Scope 3 emissions. The company, operational since 1 January 2023, is wholly controlled by Eni, which holds 100% of its share capital.

Uniquely positioned

Eni Sustainable Mobility promotes sustainable mobility through a production line that runs from feedstocks, through our biorefineries in Gela and Venice and onto the market, providing a broad, distinctive and integrated range of products and services to meet the needs of end customers.

The revolution powered by renewable energy

Since 2023, the HVOlution biofuel, Eni Sustainable Mobility's first diesel produced from 100% renewable raw materials (pursuant to Directive (EU) 2018/2001 "RED II"), has been sold at many Eni petrol stations. HVOlution is a biofuel that is produced from waste raw materials and vegetable residue. The proprietary Ecofining™ technology makes it possible to process waste vegetable raw materials and non-edible oils to produce the HVO (Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil) biofuel, of which Eni Sustainable Mobility is the second largest producer in Europe.

The establishment of Eni Sustainable Mobility reinforces Eni's commitment to achieve net-zero carbon by 2050, preparing it to reduce emissions from its operations (scope 1 and 2) and, as demand for fossil fuels decreases, also to eliminate the scope 3 component of carbon emissions over time by selling bio, green and blue products to its customers, identifying a distinctive model in the global energy sector.
