Established by Eni with the aim of having an autonomous organization dedicated specifically to solidarity initiatives, Eni Foundation applies business efficiency criteria to objectives of a philanthropic nature and operates in accordance with the values and the code of conduct of the Founder, which are, first and foremost, the respect for human rights, the central role and development of the individual, cooperation, solidarity.
By creating an autonomous Foundation, Eni intends to strengthen the support to its Business Units with respect to the programs aimed at providing aid and assistance to local communities in the more than 70 Countries in which the Company operates. But above all, Eni wants the foundation to be an expression of its growing commitment as a socially responsible player in its broadest sense.
In order to play an active role in community, Eni Foundation focuses its attention on the major social problems concerning the safeguarding of individuals’ fundamental rights: survival, social development and protection.
In this context, children and adolescents, on the one hand, and the elderly, on the other – while representing both the future as well as the memory of every community – are among the most fragile and vulnerable groups, often subjected to neglect and abuse, exploitation and marginalization and, therefore, in particular need of help and support.
“Consistent with the values, principles and experience that have always characterized Eni’s approach, Eni Foundation promotes the protection of the rights of children and the elderly by carrying out social initiatives aimed at encouraging their overall well being and development.”
The rights of children and the elderly can be protected by:
children and the elderly as individuals fully entitled to civil, social, political, cultural and economic rights, just as any other citizen
the protection of their rights and the satisfaction of their primary needs
to the wellbeing and development of children, adoloscents and the elderly, through initiatives aimed at improving the quality of their life and preventing hardship and social
