On July 4th, Eni Foundation signed a MOU with the Angolan Ministry of Health for the implementation of a project aimed at improving health conditions of children through epidemiological screening activities on the most important diseases and immunization and nutritional education programs. The initiative will be carried out in the metropolitan area of the Capital, Luanda, where, as a result of the civil war, half of the country’s population lives (over 9 million people).
The aim of the project is to contribute to the strengthening of the city’s existing peripheral healthcare facilities, from which the vaccination campaigns and the nutritional education and improvement programs for the population will be conducted.
To this end, medical and paramedical personnel will be trained, health centers will be rehabilitated and adequately equipped, especially with respect to the correct conservation of vaccines and transport services for patients and healthcare personnel will be strengthened.
