During the Master MEDEA, traditional teaching methods gradually give way to interaction. In recent years, the number of opportunities for Project Work has multiplied: the companies within the Group turn to the Scuola Mattei to involve the students in research projects that are central to their business. In this way, the students get the chance to approach the corporate world in a concrete way.
On these pages you can access the projects completed by the students in recent years, both within the school and in collaboration with companies.
Sometimes this work is the result of projects in the real sense, i.e. work that lasted several months; while others are streamlined, quick studies that were carried out as part of various Master courses.
They should be seen as an exercise, an essay, a form of training, the main aim of which is the personal and professional growth of students.
Of course, the opinions and contents expressed within them are those of the students that produced them, and do not necessarily reflect those of Eni Corporate University or Eni, even when the work has been carried out as part of projects carried out in coordination with companies in the Eni Group.

'Lean Profile' Technology. Economic aspects of a technical breakthrough in drilling design. (Italian version only) More
|
(999 Kb) |
| Up until the 1970s, the majority of wells were vertical. Modern directional drilling technologies, however, allow for the drilling of highly deviated, almost horizontal wells that enable greater hydrocarbon recovery whilst reducing both operating times and environmental impact. This work, produced by MEDEA (Energy and Environmental Management and Economics) Master students together with the ENI Exploration & Production Division illustrates the use of "lean profile" technology in the drilling of wells. | |
A simulation model for predicting demand for gas in several sectors of the Italian economy (Italian version only). More |
(881 Kb) |
| Due to its flexibility and reduced environmental impact, natural gas has become a primary source of energy over the last few years. However, the increase in demand brings with it a series of related problems connected to the safety of supply. It thus becomes increasingly important to be able to avail of prediction models which take into account the various factors influencing the demand for national gas. The aim of this project is to develop a simulation model using the dynamic systems method for predicting demand for gas in a number of sectors of the Italian economy over a twelve-month period. | |
The development of natural gas trading in the Italian market (Italian version only). More |
(662 Kb) |
| This report outlines a possible scenario for the evolution of the Italian gas market, beginning from the laws currently governing the liberalisation process of the market itself. We focus on the orientation of the European Regulators Group for Electricity and Gas and the Autorità per l'Energia Elettrica e il Gas (Electrical Energy and Gas Authority) and make continuous reference to already consolidated experiences in the European market, in particular the United Kingdom and Belgium. | |
