Every year the Scuola Mattei offers the Master MEDEA program in “Management and Economics of Energy and the Environment‘.
The programme is open to Italian and foreign university graduates pursuing careers in companies, authorities and institutions working in the energy and environmental sectors.
The MEDEA Master program offers three study tracks:
Each of these specialisations is further divided into three phases of study.
During the first phase, preparatory courses are provided separately for each program. They explore economic disciplines from institutional perspectives, and closely examine different aspects depending on the program to which the student belongs. All students are introduced to energy issues.
In the second phase, the students pursue a core curriculum on the subjects of energy, environment, and finance.
In the third phase, each program deepens specific issues related to management, economics and technology in the oil sector. This phase aims at providing the student with a high level of specialization. In addition to the specialty courses in the third phase, students are engaged in some project works in co-operaration with Eni Companies. Full-time attendance is required. The teaching method is based on lectures, case studies, software-based exercises and individual study with tutorial assistance. Also included are guided tours of Eni companies and industrial facilities, tests and exercises to evaluate student progress.
Since most courses are taught in Italian, foreign students are offered an intensive Italian course that runs during the summer, designed to prepare them to be able to actively participate in the programme. The remaining courses are taught in English.
Students who successfully complete the programme are awarded a Master’s Degree in Management and Economics of Energy and the Environment - MEDEA. Those who do so with particular distinction receive their degree cum laude.
Eni Corporate University also places a certain number of graduates with the various companies and divisions of Eni.
