Eni S.p.A. and Eni Corporate University have announced a call for applications for 2 scholarships in the field of Archival Studies, with the aim of creating highly qualified experts through participation in a project of indexing and cataloguing the company's historical documentation, and studying its cultural history.

The work will be conducted, beginning in May 2006, at the Eni Historical Archive in Via Padova 5, Pomezia (Rome) under the guidance of a company tutor, who has been entrusted with designing the training programme for each intern.

The "Eni Master Project" has run for three academic years (2003-2004, 2004-2005 and 2005-2006) and is made up of four 2nd level postgraduate university Masters in two key sectors of the company’s business activities: engineering and governance. In particular:

• two postgraduate Master courses in economics/finance, in "Governance, Control Systems and Auditing", in association with the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Milan and the Roma Tre University in Rome, aimed at providing knowledge on the models of corporate governance and the interconnections with the internal control system;
• two postgraduate Master courses in engineering, "Process Engineering" and "Petroleum Engineering", begun respectively with the University of Bologna and the Polytechnic of Turin, which provided an integrated vision of the engineering problems connected with the entire energy cycle, highlighting technological connections, restraints and opportunities, both process-related and economical, that relate to the various industrial and logistical phases.

The Project is a bridge between university and company, and forms a part of the wider process of planning and identification of professionalism which is unique to Eni's way of doing business.

Precisely because it was especially designed, the "Eni Master Project" comprised courses of study that enabled the student to acquire a high level of technical and management skills, and specific competencies which can be immediately put to use in the company.

The course of study, apart from having been defined in concert with the individual universities and operating lines within Eni, was organised so as to achieve a strong integration between academic teaching and ”on the job’ experience. For this reason the teaching programmes featured company instructors, Eni ”eyewitnesses’ who conducted company case studies, support tutorials for technical subjects, visits to Eni sites and an internship at Eni’s industrial plants and those of its companies.

Eni and Eni Corporate University, as part of their twenty-year association with the Scuola Normale Superiore of Pisa have announced a competition for places on the two-year postgraduate Specialisation Course “Science of Hydrocarbonsâ€. As part of the initiative three study grants will be awarded, to graduates in technical-scientific subject areas, for students attending the course presentation running from January 2006 to December 2007.

The course is made up as follows:
1st year course of study at the school
2nd year internship with the Group to carry out specific research of interest to the company as indicated by EniTecnologie, the E&P Division and the R&M Division.
During the course the recipient of the grant will be supported by a company tutor and an academic tutor.

As part of the long-standing and fruitful collaboration with Milan Polytechnic, during the academic years 2002/2003, 2003/2004 and 2004/2005 a specialised engineering degree in "Hydrocarbon Energy Orientation" was presented, featuring an ad-hoc curriculum that included:

• courses at the Polytechnic,
• one semester at an institute of higher learning in a foreign country of interest to the Group, with the help of an Eni study grant
• a paid apprenticeship within the Eni Group

In the academic year 2004-05, Eni Corporate University awarded 2 study grants on behalf of Saipem to young Engineering graduates to undertake the Master in Underwater Electro-acoustics, sponsored by the Italian Navy, at the University of Pisa.
