"ValCamastra09" is a programme of events promoted by Eni and organised by the municipalities of Calvello, Laurenzana, Anzi and Abriola, the Ente Fiera Autonomo of Basilicata (Efab), the Fondazione Eni Enrico Mattei, the A.A.STER consortium and the Editoriale Vita which will be take place in Val Camastra from the 17th to the 19th September 2009. The events will be held in conjunction with the first edition of the thematic fair featuring typical products, food and crops, crafts, the environment and tourism in the region of Basilicata, to be held in Calvello, also in cooperation with EFAB, from 19 to 20 September 2009.

The event aims to offer a panoramic overview and account of some of the key issues for the activation of an autonomous and sustainable development of the Basilicata area. It is an outline that has been developed in Val Camastra as part of the project Missione di Comunità launched by Eni in 2007 and which had its first big appointment with the Forum Nazionale Sviluppo e Comuni Polvere (Calvello, Abriola, 11-12 July 2008) when national and local institutions, global economic players and local businesses, actors from civil society and autonomous operators met to discuss sustainable development in the area.

The events planned for the three days will also make it possible to present some of the experiences undertaken in the territory and to promote and strengthen local socio-economic lines, from the realisation of the Val Camastra Territorial Report to the enhancement of tourism and agri-business.
