Eni has won this year’s Oscar for reporting. The motivation for the award can be summarized by the title "Not just numbers: towards integrated reporting". The prize, which is organised and run by FERPI – Federazione Relazioni Pubbliche Italiana – selected 22 finalists for eight 2010 reporting Oscars and 3 finalists for the Special Prize for Corporate Governance.
The finalists all demonstrated in their reports a desire and capacity to communicate not only business results, but also their companies’ social and environmental performance. The reports are increasingly multi-dimensional tools used to give an account to stakeholders of more than just the economic dimension of sustainability.
Eni won in the category Oscar Corporate Reporting and Large Listed Companies, with its
Annual Report and Sustainability Report. The other finalists were A2A Spa and Edison Spa.
Despite the complexity typical of a large-scale organisation, Eni was able to provide a complete and exhaustive account that managed to cover the various dimensions of sustainability and governance.
The award ceremony was held on Monday 29 November at the headquarters of Borsa Italiana in Milan.
