Eni Foundation

The Eni Foundation, which has autonomous aims, financial resources and operating tools, exists to promote and develop solidarity initiatives for children and the elderly both in Italy and abroad. Its most significant efforts include:

• in the Republic of Congo, a wide-ranging programme of vaccination and epidemiological monitoring of the most significant childhood diseases, called Salissa Mwana, in the isolated rural areas of Kouilou, Niari and Cuvette and a project called Kento Mwana; which aims to prevent the mother to child transmission of the HIV-AIDS virus;
  

• in Angola a health-nutrition project for the children of Luanda which aims to reduce the incidence of preventable disease and those caused by malnutrition;
• in Indonesia, along with Smile Train Italia, a project for the treatment of children affected by sever congenital malformations of the lip and palate by surgical procedures, the transfer of specific competences and the creation of a centre of excellence in the country;
• in Italy, in collaboration with Eni's Pioneers and Veterans Association, support for micro  local projects for the promotion of digital literacy among the old.
