The regulations (CE) 1907/2006 "REACH", published on 30/12/2006, is a profound re-examination of the complex of European Union norms in the sector for the control of chemical substances for the protection of public health and the environment and, for the first time, attributes to industry responsibility for demonstrating the safety of its products.
Registration means that the producers and importers of substances and compounds are obliged to provide the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) with a complex series of information regarding the characteristics of such substances and their uses.
ENI and its subsidiaries recognise the importance of the Regulations, the general principles of which are already an intrinsic part of the company’s commitment to sustainability and are an integral part of the culture and history of the company.
