Paolo Scaroni to receive the Foreign Policy Association's "Corporate Social Responsibility Award"

New York , 17 June 2009 – Eni Chief Executive Officer Paolo Scaroni is the winner of the 2009 Corporate Social Responsibility Award, a distinguished honour awarded by the Foreign Policy Association (FPA) to organisations and individuals for outstanding contributions to sustainable growth and corporate social responsibility.

The award presentation ceremony, at the St. Regis Hotel in New York, will take place during the Global Philanthropy Award Dinner, and other award recipients will include United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon and former US President Bill Clinton who will receive the Global Humanitarian Award. Founded in 1918, the Foreign Policy Association sets out to provide information and develop awareness and understanding of US foreign policy and global issues.

Enhancement of individuals, attention to the environment, development of local communities, technological culture and innovation are the values for which Paolo Scaroni and Eni are to receive this important tribute, awarded in previous years to some of the world's key business leaders, including Paul S. Otellini, President and CEO of Intel Corporation, David M. Cote, Chairman and CEO of Honeywell International, and John J. Conroy, Chairman and CEO of Baker & McKinsey.
