This new discovery further improves the potential of the Mamba complex in Area 4 offshore Mozambique now estimated at at least 40 tcf of gas in place.

Mineral potential of 212.5 billion cubic meters of gas in place encountered.
This new discovery, in addition to the Mamba South discovery from October 2011, further increases the potential of the Mamba complex in the Area 4.
It is estimated that the total volume of gas in place reaches now about 850 billion cubic meters (30 tcf).

During the meeting, which took place in an atmosphere of cordiality, Paolo Scaroni together with Claudio Descalzi, COO of Eni E&P, have updated President Guebuza on the progress of exploration activities, particularly on the Mamba North 1, the second exploration well being drilled in Block 4 offshore Mozambique.

The discovery of gas made in the exploratory prospectus of Mamba South 1 is about 50% larger than what announced by the Company on October 20th.
