Jobs & Careers

Tecnomare was founded in 1971 as a "company for the development of marine technologies" under Law N° 10 of October 1968 which established the Applied Research Fund managed by IMI (Istituto Mobiliare Italiano).
The aims were:

  • research into the development of new operational techniques for the exploration and economic, industrial and scientific exploitation of the sea, the seabed and marine subsoil
  • the economic and industrial exploitation of results obtained directly or indirectly as a result of the pursuit of these aims.

Activities developed on the basis of applied research projects, conceived in preparation for possible realisable future projects.

Over the years Tecnomare has evolved by responding adequately to new market challenges and expanding its presence in Egypt and Kazakhstan.
The gradual change also in the composition of the shareholders demonstrates the vitality of a cutting-edge company in step with the times.

Since 2007 Tecnomare has developed and implemented a new strategy through a process of continuous improvement in all areas and with investment in the development of ground-breaking engineering skills.
Eni SpA, which in 1971 owned 25% of the company, over time has increased its stake and by 2008 owned all the shares of the company.
