Ecofuel markets worldwide (Europe, the Americas, Asia) approximately 2 million ton/yr of products, carrying out its sales either directly from the production plants or indirectly throughout distribution out from coastal terminals.
The products list is completed with bio-ETBE and with iso-octane.
The bio-ETBE, which may also be produced in Ravenna plant by using bio-ethanol as feed-stock, is a product that, once blended with gasoline, allows to comply with the legislative obligations , recently introduced in Italy, of having a bio-quota in the automotive fuels pool. In Venuezuela is in progress the investment to convert the MTBE SuperOctanos plant for the alternate production of iso-octane and MTBE. Such technology is patented by Snamprogetti-Saipem and Ecofuel.

1st June 2007 is the date when REACH, the new Regulation for Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals, has come into force. The new Regulation has replaced a number of European directives and regulations and had placed responsibility on the chemical industry to demonstrate the safety of its products.
The regulations (CE) 1907/2006 "REACH", published on 30/12/2006, is a profound re-examination of the complex of European Union norms in the sector for the control of chemical substances for the protection of public health and the environment and, for the first time, attributes to industry responsibility for demonstrating the safety of its products.
In the general context of the implementation of the REACH Regulations (CE) 1907/2006, one of the fundamental aspects concerns the exchange of information between producers and importers, as well as the users of chemical substances ("downstream users").
A key element in the dealing with the REACH Regulation directives is a smooth and efficient communication among all actors: manufacturers, suppliers and customers.
To implement and facilitate the transmission of information, Ecofuel has created a contact points dedicated:
Within the Ecofuel a specific structure has been defined, in order to implement the terms of the REACH Regulations with the involvement of all interested parties in the company.
In the general context of the implementation of the REACH Regulations (CE) 1907/2006, one of the fundamental aspects concerns the exchange of information between producers and importers, as well as the users of chemical substances ("downstream users‘).
A particularly important element of this exchange concerns the identification of the effective uses of the substances themselves, so that they can be evaluated during the registration process and included in the future in the "extended‘ safety profile. If a specific use of a substance is not indicated in the profile this could result in restrictions on possible uses.
The European Chemical Substances Agency (ECHA) has developed a series of codes ("REACH descriptions‘) to catalogue the uses of substances and to facilitate the exchange of information about their conditions of use in various industrial sectors. A list of such codes and other information about their use is available of the ECHA's web site .
The main communication tool within the supply chain is the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS). The Material Safety Data Sheet describes the hazards of a product and explains how the product can be safely used, handled and stored.
For communications regarding this issue it is possible to send an email to the following address:
