Photo and History Archive

From the beginning, photography has been a formidable and innovative communication tool. It is real history in that it describes and documents, in a more or less reliable form, events and reality. Consequently,  photography  is one of the most precious and fascinating sources which, due to its specific characteristics, is not limited to an objective description of reality. It also has an impact on facts, and influences events and consciences, as part of a precise and historically determined cultural discourse.

The images kept in Eni's Historical Archive, from which it is possible to have lively representation of the company's development, alongside the cultural and economic development of the country, are consistent with this approach.
