The personal archives fond contain documents relating to Oreste Jacobini, with a total of around 200 archive units that cover the years from 1899 (with papers relating to publications and reports of the time) to 1956. The material originally belonged to Oreste Jacobini (one of the founders of ANIC, the national combustible hydrogenation association, and AGIP, the Italian general oil company), who used them during his professional life, and also includes some strictly personal papers. The documents mainly refer to the different sectors where Jacobini worked, including the Ferrovie dello Stato (Italian state railways), Azienda Italiana Petroli Albania (Italian Albanian oil company), the Società Italiana Oleodotti Nazionali (Italian national oil pipeline company) and his activities as a senator in the Italian Kingdom.
The documents have a great deal of historical-cultural importance, containing as they do important details and thoughts on the Italian and world oil/energy situation at the time. He is also the subject of the first volume (May 2006) in the publishing series "Documenti dall'Archivio Storico" (documents from the historical archives), entitled "La questione petrolifera italiana. Studi di Oreste Jacobini tra primo e secondo Dopoguerra" (the Italian oil question. Studies by Oreste Jacobini between the periods after the first and second world wars). As for the personal archives, plans are under way to set up a personal archive dedicated to the artist Jean Michel Folon and to the work he did in collaboration with Eni, particularly in the methane gas sector.
